Eight years ago Vancouver Coastal Health told us they needed a website with a simple directory database.
What we delivered was a platform that could manage all of their digital assets and online initiatives.
Supporting the main VCH website, their careers sites and various departmental micro-sites, it had to be safe, secure, reliable, and totally flexible and adaptable to changing needs.
In the process we’ve become their Digital Partner, delivering dependable and effective support across the entire digital ecosystem.

We started with the basics and laid down a strong technical foundation to start architecting VCH’s digital future.With our Expression web framework as a foundation we were free to explore long term strategy build out VCH’s vision for the future.And that’s exactly what we did. With over 2 million visitors a year, and the network spanning many domains and applications, our service and technology offerings have risen to the challenge and delivered results.

Think of it as our secret weapon.Right out of the starting gate, VCH’s network was able span to multiple domains, and easily adapt user roles to fit the health authority’s complex organizational structure.Expression got us to work the day after the project started, with VCH staff able to begin migrating content and media right away.
digital AssetIntegration
We didn’t stop with the 8 websites. We integrated the 8-1-1 services and Locations Directory from Health Link BC. This turned the website into a one-stop medical mega hub.Visitors can find health services in their area without the need for large amounts of administrative overhead or additional resources.
TheCreative
While one team was getting creative with the tech, the other was working closely with our partners Ecstatic Design to refresh the VCH brand collateral—their logo, website designs, style guide and photography selection all had to be re-thought.
Each brand asset had to represent the people who VCH served.
With strong ties to B.C.’s natural landscape—mountains, ocean, rivers and forests—the logo and website designs captured the spirit of British Columbians and the thriving beauty that surrounds them.
In addition, the UX was updated to provide users clear and easy access to large amounts of important data from any web device.
The online platform we built for Vancouver Coastal Health is always on, always secure and completely scalable. VCH staffers can change what they want, when the want without having to revamp the site or take it down. They now have the tech and the creative to support their mission: To provide millions of B.C. residents with world-class medical care, research and education.

Tips to Prevent Fluid Loss (Dehydration)
Give plenty of liquids at the first sign of flu. Sick people with the flu need to drink extra fluids to keep from getting dehydrated. Mild fluid loss can most often be treated at home. Yet, severe dehydration is VERY serious and must be treated in the hospital.
Tips to prevent dehydration
If the sick person is not eating well, encourage them to drink liquids. Avoid alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them such as colas, tea, and coffee.
Older adults and people with kidney problems should check with their doctor about safe amounts of liquid to drink when sick.
Offer clear fluids such as water, broth, or sports drinks.
Use a squeeze bottle or a straw for people too weak to drink from a cup. Or offer ice chips or frozen ice pops to suck on.
Continue to nurse or bottle feed your baby. Babies get all the fluid they need from breastfeeding or formula.
If your baby refuses to breastfeed or take formula from the bottle, call the doctor. Your doctor may recommend you give your child a special drink like Pedialyte(R), which is meant to prevent dehydration.
