Ⅰ.交际用语
《大学英语》
一、解题技巧
在学习、使用和复习交际用语部分时,大家要掌握使用交际用语的几个原则:
A. 礼貌原则
&& &&无论在任何场合、表达什么看法/情感,发话/发问和应答都要有礼貌,即使表达不同看法或批评意见,也要委婉间接表达,使对方听起来不刺耳,例如:
Do you think I can use your car for one day?
&&&&&&&&& &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B. No, you can’t.
&&&&&&&&&&&&& D. Absolutely not.
解析:此题第一说话人向对方提出请求“想借车一用”,对方如果不能答应,应该委婉地表示拒绝。因此选A。
B. 利他原则
&& &在日常交际中,英语国家人民形成了一种习俗,即要尽可能为对方提供帮助和方便,对别人遇到的好事/成功要表示高兴,坏事要表示难过/惋惜,因此在交际用语中也要体现出来这种倾向,例如:
I am going to the City Hall, can you tell me how to get there, madam?
A. No, you don’t know&
B. I don’t know.
C. Yes, you will.&&&&&&&&&&&
D. Sorry, I am new here too. But you can ask the policeman over there.
解析:此题第一说话人在向对方询问道路,按照利他原则,应尽可能为对方提供帮助和方便。所以选D,首先表示歉意,自己也不知道,同时给出一些有帮助的建议。
C. 文化遵从原则
&& 在选择交际用语时,大家要有跨文化视角,也就是说,要克服本民族的习惯思维和应答模式,要使用得体的、符合对方习惯的方式来应答。例如:
A. Thank you very much&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B. No, no, John is not bad
C. Thank you. He is fine&&&&&& &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& &&&&&& D. Don’t say that. It’s ugly. John is good
A. this weekend we may go to cinema&&&&&&&& B. No, we’re not
C. Oh, it’s none of your business&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D. Welcome to our party
.&&&&&&&&&&&
A. Yes, I’m not&&&&&& B. No, I am&&& &&&&&& C. Yes, I am&&&&&&&&& D. No, not at all
&I’m full.
A. Yes, please.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B. No more, thanks.
C. Why not?&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D. Nothing more.

&&&&&&&&&&&
The word “…” could best be replaced by which of the following?

三、例题讲解
(一)各种题型具体解题思路与分析
But his effort failed. He ordered his troops to Versailles. The people thought that Louis intended to put down the Revolution by force. On July 14, 1789, they stormed and took the Bastille, where political prisoners were kept. Ever since that day, July 14 has been the French National Day. Louis tried to flee the country in 1792 to get support from Austria and Prussia. However, he was caught and put in prison. In September 1792, the monarchy was abolished. In the same year, Louis was executed. A few months later his wife, Marie also had her head cut off. The Revolution of France had frightened the other kings of Europe. Armies from Austria and Prussia began to march against France. The French raised republican armies to defend the nation. The Revolution went through a period of terror. Thousands of people lost their lives. In the end, power passed to Napoleon Bonaparte.
【题解】此题为细节题。根据题干此题是对1789年所发生事情的考查判断,因此就需要回到原文寻找有关1789年所发生的事情的相关信息,文章中没有涉及到的选项就是此题的正确答案。选项
B. In Austria.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& C. In Prussia.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D. In Bastille.
【题解】此题为细节题。题干用的是特殊疑问词
&&& 解细节题时,要注意与题干相关的一些从句,比如定语从句,同位语从句,或者非谓语动词结构,因为往往这个时候,它所考查的就是这些句子或结构所要修饰或解释说明的名词。
and France are separated by the English Channel, a body of water that can be crossed in as few as 20 minutes. But the cultures of the two countries sometimes seem to be miles apart.
B. harm&&&&&&&&&
D. both good and harm
【题解】此题为细节题。根据题干可以判定此题是考查伊拉克战争对英法关系的影响,而在原文提到伊拉克战争的就只有文章的第三段。回到原文的第三段很容易就发现在本段的第二句话就提到了英法两国在伊拉克战争问题上存在
B. A Germany
D. America; America
The power of words, then, lies in their associations-the thing they bring up before our minds. Words become filled with meaning
and the longer we live, the more certain words recall to us the glad and sa and the more we read and learn, the more the number of words that mean something increases.
Great writers are those who not only have great thoughts but also express these thoughts in words which appeal powerfully to our minds and emotions. This charming and telling use of words is what we call literary style. Above all, the real poet is a master of words. He can convey his meaning in words which sing like music and which by their position and association can move men to tears. We should therefore learn to choose our words carefully and use them accurately, or they will make our speech silly and vulgar. (239 words)
A. He is no more than a master of words.&&&&&&&
C. He can move men to tears.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

&& The internet has many advantages: giving us information in a great volume and at very fast speed and providing us a platform to communicate, entertain ourselves and learn knowledge—our wonderful distance education is a good example.
Although we consider ourselves as highly advanced being living in a civilized society, bad manners can still be found here and there. For example, some cyclists run the red traffic lights, many passengers litter waste papers and plastic bags in public places, and some tourists scrabble in tourists attractions, let alone spit on the street. In the cinema, some audience talk loudly on cell phones in front of others.
I’m strongly against talking loudly in the cinema, for this behavior shows no resp what’s worse, it upsets the audience who are in the mood of having fun.
