As President and CEO, directed all aspects of SMART Toronto’s activities, including screening and managing programming, administrative and technical staff and a twenty-six member Board, and volunteers. BackgroundExperienceNonperishable DesignGraphic and interactive design for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and design studios. Work includes identity systems, marketing materials, illustration and front-end interactive programming.Volunteer Experience & CausesInteractive Co-ChairWeb site maintenance and updates, email blasts, volunteer recruiting and management, event planning (including concept of event, organizing and recruiting speakers, venue and technical setup.) Planned 3 major events during my tenure which drew 100-200+ people in attendance for each.ProjectsThis project began as illustrations for a web app on caring for pet birds. Our family has includes two lively Cockatiels. What are little girls & boys made of? Striving to reinvent a classic, since the original nursery rhymes felt outdated to me and other parents I know. I can tell you from personal experience that some little girls like puppies' tails and snails, and some little boys hate bugs and can also be super sweet. So, through a series of social media interviews and informal surveys, I gathered adjectives from parents on what their little boys and girls are really made of. Then, I re-wrote and hand-lettered these old favorites. Team members:, I polled parents through facebook and parent meetings for adjectives that described their children.So very excited to have been able to work on this project!
