产品管理概念比产品设计大的多。产品管理涉及整个产品概念，计划，开发，验证，发布，运营生命周期。而产品设计只是这里面的一个子过程。即使在互联网行业，也要意识到产品设计往往本身并不能回答产品满足用户需求，产品一定好卖的问题。
看规模而定。如果一个team只有一个产品，就别分了。有很多个，那designer就去design，版本发不发的出来就不关他的事了。
产品设计，以人为本，采用最优化的方式给用户最好的体验，完成市场预期目标。产品管理，有时候和projet manager一样，为了进度或者为了市场或者其他，需要降低一些好的体验，或者将看起来很好的产品砍掉。

DESCRIPTION
Position Description
The Senior Designer will be participating in the product development or product maintenance group and will be responsible for delivering designs. These designs must keep manufacturability, cost and speed to market in mind while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Reporting To
The Senior Designer reports directly to the NPD manager. He or she will also report indirectly to the lead designer and/or project manager of any projects in which he or she participates.
Position Responsibilities
General: Lead collaborative design reviews with other design team members to share ideas Create designs with limited direction from an engineer, except for areas governed by codes/standards, or where lifting/safety issues need to be investigated/calculated Evaluate new part and product manufacturability Work with design/project team to make design decisions Estimate scope of work and design time accurately Follow all established design standards and suggest additions/improvements when they are needed
New Product Development and/or Product Support Responsibilities: Basic product Configurator value updates Layout/create reference guides using knowledge of our manufacturing processes and knockdown customer needs Create designs that consider all product variation within a given project and minimize part count/product cost Identify and implement product improvement and cost-out opportunities Support manufacturing for continuous improvement projects Provide support for Special Design Quote Sign off Process Participate with New Product Development project teams on pilot jobs Address and resolve corrective action to standard Documentations Provide Support for Marketing, Application & Sales, Manufacturing and Warranty Services Develop tools to manage variation in Job Support Requests
Additional Responsibilities Travel periodically to BAC manufacturing facilities during prototype or pilot assembly and assist with prototype/pilot build Travel to customer job sites for new product assembly and commissioning
Knowledge & Skills
Required Knowledge/Skills: Attention to detail Proficiency in 3D modeling software Proficiency with Basic Excel use Sheet metal design, and how it pertains to manufacturability Thorough understanding of manufacturing capabilities in sheet metal parts & steel coil fabrication and assembly line. Basic Product Configurator functionality Ability to interpret market-based requirements (from a project specification or other sources) and develop designs to meet those needs wit understand the details inherent in such requirements Mistake proof design DFMA (design for manufacturing & assembly) Load/Update data in ERP Systems Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD (or equivalent) Full Professional Proficiency in speaking & writing English, can participate in English discussions/conference call when work in a global project team
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Autodesk Inventor experience
Highly Variable product design
Autodesk Vault knowledge
HVAC experience
Advanced Excel skills
Required Experience/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, HVAC, Thermal Dynamic, or other equivalent) 7+ years of experience
